Andrew McSweeney

Andrew is the founder of marginalised youth music organisation, Living Music.

Andrew is a singer/songwriter, bass player, guitarist and pianist and has been performing and recording his music for over 20 years. Andrew has produced and released 6 CDs of his material and has been the bass player with the Kutcha Edwards Band since 1998.

Charles Jenkins

Charles Jenkins is a Melbourne songwriter/musician and performer with more than 20 years experience in the Australian Music Industry.

Starting out with the rockabilly/punk outfit the Mad Turks from Istanbul through to power-pop band the Icecream Hands, Charles is now forging a successful solo career, receiving critical acclaim for his three solo albums.

Charles has recorded and released nine albums, both locally and internationally including his two solo albums Bungalow (2004) and The City Gates (2005). He has toured Europe and America as a solo artist and toured the USA with the Icecream Hands. His latest solo album Blue Atlas was released early 2009.

A published songwriter for more than 15 years, Charles signed to Mushroom Publishing in 2004, and his songs have been placed in local and international television and film and recorded by artists of the calibre of Rebecca Barnard and Kerri Simpson. He has been nominated for two ARIAS with the band Icecream Hands, and performed on the SBS music show RocKwiz. Of late he has co-written songs with Mick Thomas (Weddings, Parties, Anything), Angie Hart (Frente), and Abby Dobson (Leonardo’s Bride) and Suzannah Espie.

Peter Satchell

Singer/songwriter for 15 years, Pete plays a range of instruments and also engineers and produces recording sessions. Pete has toured both internationally and domestically with my band Aria nominated band Dallas Crane and Jimmy Barnes. Of recent years Pete has become involved in community music work.

Simon Eszeky

Started playing music 25 years ago on guitar had 10 years lessons with Phillip Lowe. VCA in 94/ 95 studying a bachelor of performing arts in jazz guitar. Founding member of genre defying Cranky and then SEK. Played all over Aus, including Big Day Out, Push Over, Falls Festival etc.

Amber Nicoll

(a.k.a DJ Dextrus) has her Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training, and has been conducting private and tertiary DJ workshops for many years. She continues to work with LIVING MUSIC as a music mentor, trainer and performer. Amber works with youth, high at risk youth and Australian minority groups bringing music to regional areas and continues her successful workshops in the Youth Services field.

Julian Gregory

Melbourne based hip hop artist Julez is a unique voice in the Australian music scene. Steering clear of generic hip-hop identities Julez instead uses the artform to express his own experiences and ideas.

In September 2010 Julez released his self-titled debut album, which is currently receiving airplay on radio stations throughout the country (Including Triple J’s Home & Hosed & Hip Hop Show). In 2008 he was named Triple J feature artist of the week for his tongue in cheek radio single “The Passion of the Julez”.

Thomas Butt

DJ/Producer/chutney maker. Bass player with Melbourne Hip Hop band True Live, currently splitting his time between living in Melbourne and touring France under new French record label.

Pat Marks – Pataphysics

MC, beat maker, evolutionary poet/subversive theorist. Pataphysics soulful guerrilla hip hop and multi-lingual, multi-instrumental unpredictable live shows incorporates improvisation, conscious lyrics and global rhythm.

Jessie Lloyd

Originally from the tropics of far north Queensland, Jessie Lloyd heralds from a strong lineage of Australian Aboriginal musicians. Jessie studied music in Perth, WA where she performed and toured with her award winning band Djiva.  Jessie has since gone out on a solo career and in 2009 was nominated as Female Artist of the Year at Too Solid Awards. She is currently the CEO and Artistic Director of Songlines Aboriginal Music Corporation.
